Goddess Raja Matangi embodies the powerful avatar of divine feminine energy, also known as SHAKTHI. She serves as a guiding force that leads individuals to reach the pinnacle of their potential. As the Goddess of Manifestation, she grants every desire and bestows great fortune upon her devotees.

Siddhar Bogar also worshipped Goddess Matangi to receive the sutra to make Lord Muruga's Navapashana Silai at Palani. Sri Raghavendra Swami, one of the most revered Hindu saints, acknowledges Goddess Matangi as his Guru. By the grace of Goddess Raja Matangi, Guru Mithreshiva was awakened at his tender age.

She is the ninth of the ten Mahavidyas, which translates to "Great Cosmic Wisdom Goddess". She is a combined form of three powerful goddesses: Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Parvati. These three goddesses represent wealth, wisdom, and power respectively. 

Goddess Matangi is also worshipped under various names such as Matangeshwari, Meenakshi, Shyamala, Modeshwari, and Bhuvaneshwari. She governs over speech, music, dance, knowledge, and the arts.
