Significance of Matangi Jayanthi

  • Matangi Jayanti is celebrated on the third day of the waxing moon in the Hindu month of Vaishakha, known as Shukla Paksha - an auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya. This day is when Goddess Matangi,the ninth of the Dasa Mahavidyas, manifested.
  • During this sacred day, both the moon and sun are in exalted positions, and every moment is considered highly auspicious. This is an ideal time to offer prayers and perform rituals to honor Goddess Matangi and seek her blessings for success, creativity, and wisdom.
